Bryson DeChambeau, the two-time US Open champion and this year's LIV Golf winner at Steyn City, will play in this year's Nedbank Golf Challenge at Sun City, Gary Player has confirmed.

The tournament – billed as "Africa's Major" – runs from 3 to 6 December at the Gary Player Country Club.

Player, who hosts the event, announced on Monday night that this would be DeChambeau's first appearance at Sun City, Jacques van der Westhuyzen reports for The Citizen.

It follows DeChambeau's win over Jon Rahm in a playoff at the LIV Golf event in South Africa earlier this year, a victory that won him considerable support among local fans.

DeChambeau said in a video posted to Player's X account that he was pleased to be returning to South Africa.

Player, in turn, praised the reception DeChambeau received at Steyn City, saying it was unlike anything he had seen other players draw from fans.

The Nedbank Golf Challenge forms part of the DP World Tour. Norwegian golfer Kristoffer Reitan won the 2025 title. Organisers have not yet officially confirmed DeChambeau's participation.
