Ownership
The Fiduciary Gazette ("The Gazette"), founded in July 2026, is the owner of copyright in the content it publishes, protected under the Copyright Act 98 of 1978. This includes, but is not limited to, the right to reproduce, adapt, distribute and communicate to the public all text, images, graphics, layout and compilations appearing on The Gazette's platforms. Copyright in the selection, arrangement and curation of third-party material is likewise reserved, separately from copyright in the individual works curated.
Third-party content and attribution
The Gazette draws on carefully curated source material. Where third-party content is used, primary ownership is clearly indicated and supported by hyperlink attribution to the original publisher, in line with The Gazette's editorial policy on attribution.
Proprietary marks
The names, mastheads and logos of The Gazette are proprietary marks and may not be used without prior written consent.
Prohibited uses
No content appearing in The Gazette may be reproduced, republished, distributed, scraped, or used to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning systems, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, without prior clearance from the editor. Requests should be directed to eugene@thegazette.co.za.
Fair dealing
Nothing in this statement limits any use permitted under the fair dealing exceptions set out in section 12 of the Copyright Act 98 of 1978, including quotation, criticism, review, and reporting of current events, provided such use is accompanied by sufficient acknowledgement of The Gazette as the source.
No warranty
The Gazette takes reasonable care in the preparation of its content but makes no warranty as to its completeness or accuracy, and accepts no liability for loss arising from reliance on it, save as required by law.
Governing law
This statement is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes arising from it fall under the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
